What is a Pre-Employment
Pre-employment medical assessments evaluate a candidate’s health and ability to safely perform the duties of a specific role. These assessments consider the individual’s medical history, as well as the physical and psychological demands of the job. They help employers determine a candidate’s suitability and ensure a safe and productive workplace.
What kind of test make up a pre-employment
Every workplace is different, and therefore pre-employment assessments are based on workplace requirements. Often times the assessments are based on questionnaire’s, past medical history and examination. If other tests are required including drug & alcohol, blood test or urine you will be notified in advance.
Why can't I be told if I have passed or failed after my appointment
Pre-employment medicals aren’t about passing or failing. Instead, they assess an individual’s health in relation to the demands of the job and provide a risk rating for the employer to consider.
If any health concerns or risks are identified, many roles can still be performed safely with reasonable adjustments or modifications. It’s important to note that the final hiring decision rests solely with the employer—our role is to provide an independent health assessment, not to determine suitability for employment.
Is My consent required
Absolutely. No Assessments will be conducted without the individuals consent.
Will I have to pay for my assessment
The payment of the assessments is based on the agreement between the employer and the employee. All assessments must be paid to the appointment.
Can I have a copy of my final results?
Genesis is unable to provide of a copy of results to anyone but the entity requesting the Pre-Employment. If this is your employer or potential employer, this can be requested from them.
